The Hedingham Sharks are our own
champions! Our team is a charter member of the Tarheel Swimming
Association (TSA), which comprises swim teams from private,
non-profit clubs in the Raleigh/Wake County area. Teams are placed
into divisions of four teams each, based on the past-year's
performance in dual meets. The goals of TSA and Hedingham Swim Team
are three-fold:
- to improve the swimming skills of
each participant;
- to sponsor and encourage fun for
the swim team members;
- to provide a vehicle for that
fun that encourages team spirit, sportsmanship, and an understanding
of healthy competition.
Something
new this year, the practices and meets will be held at the
Willow Oak Pool. Practice schedule as follows
4:30 to 5:30: 11 and ups,
5:30 to 6:30: 7-10's,
6:30 to 7:15: 6 and unders.
Practice promptly
starts at these times, swimmers need to be ready. Thursday is time
trials, this is how the coaches determine the meet line up. Ribbons
are handed out on Wednesday's, if your swimmer does not attend
practice, they can not get their ribbons.
At the end of every
event, all swimmers are invited to gobble down free ice cream cones
provided by the Dairy Queen on New Bern Ave to relive the exciting
races and build lasting friendships.
